Today I had the pleasure of stopping by 4 Rivers in Jacksonville after not visiting for a couple of years. I was having a hard time deciding what to order, so I asked the gentleman helping me for a recommendation. He suggested the sliders because they were filling and allowed me to try three different meats. He also recommended upgrading the meal to include two sides, which turned out to be a great choice. After I finished my meal, the same gentleman came out to where I was sitting and surprised me with a complimentary dessert. He told me they were happy to have me back and hoped it wouldn’t be another couple of years before they saw me again. As he walked away, I noticed his name tag and realized he was the General Manager. That small gesture made a lasting impression. It’s refreshing to see that 4 Rivers has stayed true to its family-oriented roots, with even the General Manager taking the time to personally interact with guests and make them feel welcome. Excellent food paired with genuine hospitality is what creates loyal customers, and this experience reminded me why I’ll be coming back much sooner next time.

Disappointing. Service was awful. Stood in line for about 10 mins not moving while the carver worked on bringing out meat and preparing other orders. Definitely need more staff needed at the order line. Food was not up to the usual standard. Ordered brisket (mix of wet and lean) and I was served meat with large amounts of fat. Not sure if I will return to this location unfortunately.

I just ordered the enormous loaded baked potato which came with two sides. I chose fried okra which was fried deliciously and cornmeal and the bananas Foster bread pudding for my second side. Everything was cooked to perfection and I couldn't make a higher recommendation for any local barbecue restaurant. I've lived here my whole life and had them all! This is hands down the best.

I’ve stopped by here several times when in the area for work. I’ve tried nearly everything from the menu by this point. Today I decided to leave a review. I bought the six shooter combo, 2 sides, a desert to take home and share with the family. The six shooter entree was a stack of cheese grits, pulled bbq, pickles, jalapeños and bbq sauce. It was superb. Great old fashioned fried okra and bread pudding like I get back home from my grandma. The oatmeal cream pie I took home and shared with the family after dinner. It was a nice chewy cookie with cream filling. All of it was 10/10 and I’ll definitely be back again.

It was my husband’s BD party hosted at the Club Hose served 20 people. Ordered and picked up 4 racks of St. Louis Ribs, 2.5 lbs of Brisket, 1 lb of turkey and 50 wings. My granddaughter catered the rest of the sides. The meat was a sell out and a favorite. The flavors and taste was amazing and delicious with all the different sauces. An excellent way to keep the guys from grilling. 🤪
